Creamy Mash Potato

Creamy Mashed Potatoes

Serves 4

Ingredients:

  • 3 large potatoes
  • 40g butter
  • 30ml milk
  • 30ml cream
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Pinch of nutmeg

Cooking Steps:

  1. Prepare Potatoes:

    • Peel the potatoes and cut them into pieces of uniform size to ensure even cooking.
    • Place the potato pieces in cold water with 1-2 teaspoons of salt.
    • Bring the pot to a boil, then reduce the heat to simmer. Cook for 12-16 minutes until the potatoes are tender.
  2. Drain and Mash:

    • Once the potatoes are cooked, test them by inserting a knife. It should go through with no resistance.
    • Drain the potatoes and let them sit in the colander to drain off excess water.
    • Meanwhile, warm the milk, cream, and butter until hot.
    • Return the drained potatoes to the pot and mash them until smooth.
    • Pour in half of the warm milk mixture and mash until desired consistency is reached. Add more liquid if needed.
  3. Season and Serve:

    • Season the mashed potatoes with salt, pepper, and a pinch of nutmeg to taste.
    • Serve the creamy mashed potatoes as a delicious side dish with your favorite dinner. Enjoy!
